Monkey Attack by Kasih Humaira

     Aina stopped walking when she heard, "Students, return to your rooms immediately! This is an order from the warden," the Head Girl instructed. 

    The students were shocked to hear this. Aina immediately took her friend's hand and went back to their room. When they arrived, they were shocked to see the conditions of their room.

    "What happened here?" Aina was curious. "How did our room get trashed?" The warden informed that some rooms were intruded by a group of monkeys. 

    "This is why windows should remain close during school hours," the warden scolded them, eyes burning red. 

    Another warden, Puan Yati chimed in. "Fortunately, the monkeys were handled by Animal Control already. Now, it's your responsibility to clean up."

    Aina and her roommates including her friend looked at each other miserably. "Just make sure to use the right cleaning tools and inform us if any damaged property," Puan Yati said before leaving them dumbfounded. 

    Their room was a mess. Curtains were torn, books were everywhere, beds filled with muddy footprints. Even Aina's locker got dented. However, the girls did what needed to be done. 

    "I'll go and get the brooms and dustpan," a friend said, "and we'll go and get the mop and buckets from the washroom," the other two girls volunteered themselves. The rest stayed and started cleaning the rooms. They picked up the books, took off the sheets from the beds and also the curtains from the windows railings. 

    When the brooms and mop were brought there, they started getting to work. "Hey, I've got some masks and gloves," a roommate mentioned. 

    "Let's wear them for precaution." The others agreed. They each took a pair of gloves and a mask. Within two hours, the room was clean and mess free. No signs of any monkey left.

    They all looked at the room proudly. Although the clean up was hectic, the girls worked together to achieve a goal. "Well, six heads are better than one, right?" Aina giggled. 

    "Yeah," her friends replied, cheerfully. "Just make sure to close the windows next time." They all laughed happily together.
